What it covers
Shocks, struts, springs, bushes, ball joints and tie rod ends all wear gradually, so the decline is easy to miss until something fails a roadworthy or eats a set of tyres. We inspect the lot on a hoist and show you what has movement in it.
Signs you need it
- Clunking or knocking over bumps and speed humps
- The car floats, wallows or keeps bouncing after a dip
- Uneven or feathered tyre wear
- Steering feels loose, vague or wanders on the freeway
- The car sits lower on one corner
What we do
- Shocks and struts checked for leaks and damping loss
- Ball joints, tie rod ends and control arm bushes checked for play
- Springs, mounts and sway bar links inspected
- Power steering system checked for leaks and noise
- Wheel alignment set to specification
- Tyre wear assessed and the cause identified, not just the symptom

Common questions
Do I have to replace shocks in pairs?
Across an axle, yes. Replacing one side only leaves the car damping unevenly, which affects handling and braking balance.
Will an alignment fix uneven tyre wear?
It will stop it getting worse, but only once any worn components causing the misalignment are replaced. Aligning a car with a worn ball joint will not hold.
