What it covers
A roadworthy inspection checks the safety-critical items on your vehicle against Victorian standards — brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, lights, glass, body and structure. It is required when you sell a registered vehicle or re-register one.
Signs you need it
- You are selling a registered vehicle
- You are re-registering a car that has been off the road
- You are transferring registration from interstate
- A clearance is needed after a defect notice
What we do
- Brakes, steering and suspension inspected on the hoist
- Tyres, wheels and their condition assessed
- Lights, indicators, wipers, glass and mirrors checked
- Seatbelts, body and structural condition inspected
- Anything that fails is quoted on the spot before repairs
- Re-inspection once the work is done
