What it covers
We inspect a car you are considering buying and give you an honest report on its mechanical condition — what is sound, what needs doing soon, and what would make us walk away. We have no interest in the sale either way.
Signs you need it
- Buying privately with no warranty and no comeback
- The car is a long way from home and you get one look at it
- The service history is thin or missing
- The price seems good and you want to know why
What we do
- Vehicle raised and inspected underneath for damage, rust and leaks
- Engine, cooling, brakes, steering and suspension assessed
- Full diagnostic scan for stored and pending fault codes
- Tyres, battery and body condition checked
- Road test for noises, gearbox behaviour and brake performance
- A written report you can use to negotiate or to walk away
Booking it in
We have usually got something available this week. Ring (03) 9748 9500 with your rego and what the car is doing, or send the booking form. You get the price in writing before anything starts, and if we find something extra we stop and call.
We are at Factory 1/184/190 Old Geelong Rd, Hoppers Crossing, and look after drivers across Truganina, Werribee, Point Cook, Tarneit, Wyndham Vale.
Common questions
Can you inspect a car at the seller address?
Ring us and ask. Some inspections need a hoist to be worth doing, so bringing the car to us gives you a better result.
Does this replace a roadworthy?
No. A pre-purchase inspection tells you the condition of the car. A roadworthy certificate is a separate legal document required to transfer registration.
