Exhaust repairs and upgrades

A blowing exhaust is louder, slower and a roadworthy failure. It can also put fumes where you do not want them.

What it covers

Exhaust systems rust from the inside and fail at joints, flex pipes and mufflers first. Sections can often be repaired or replaced individually rather than replacing the whole system.

Signs you need it

  • The car has become noticeably louder, especially on start-up
  • A droning or rasping noise that changes with revs
  • Rattling from underneath over bumps
  • Exhaust smell inside the cabin
  • Visible rust holes or a hanging section

What we do

  • Full system inspection on the hoist from manifold to tailpipe
  • Leaks located and the affected section identified
  • Mufflers, flex joints, hangers and gaskets replaced as needed
  • Catalytic converter condition assessed where relevant
  • Work done to keep the vehicle roadworthy and road legal

Common questions

Will a blowing exhaust fail a roadworthy?

Yes. Leaks, excessive noise and insecure mountings are all failure items.

Can you fit an aftermarket exhaust?

Ring us and describe what you have in mind. Anything fitted has to remain road legal for noise and emissions.

Need it looked at this week?

Tell us the car and the symptom — you'll get a straight answer and a fixed price, from someone who'll still be here next year.
