What it covers
Refrigerant does not get used up. If your air conditioning has gone warm, gas has escaped somewhere, and simply refilling it means paying for the same job again next summer. Leak testing comes before regassing.
Signs you need it
- Air is cool rather than cold, or only cold at speed
- The system takes much longer to cool the cabin
- A rattle or squeal when the air conditioning switches on
- Musty smell from the vents
- Windscreen demisting slowly
What we do
- System performance measured on both pressures
- Leak test with dye or electronic detection
- Condenser, compressor, hoses and seals inspected
- Cabin filter checked and replaced where needed
- Evacuate, vacuum test and regas to the correct charge weight
- Retest cabin temperature before the car goes back
Booking it in
We have usually got something available this week. Ring (03) 9748 9500 with your rego and what the car is doing, or send the booking form. You get the price in writing before anything starts, and if we find something extra we stop and call.

Common questions
Can you just regas it?
We can, but if there is a leak the gas will be gone again. We would rather find the leak and tell you what it costs than take money for a fix that will not last.
Should I run it in winter?
Yes, briefly and regularly. It keeps the compressor seals lubricated and it is what demists your windscreen fastest.
